We collect information about you when you:

• Submit a Hire Enquiry Form on our website
• Sign up for email updates as a volunteer
• Sign up for email updates about Maryport Matters
• Contact us to get involved in The Centre via Facebook (including Messenger), phone, email, post and in person.
• Submit a Gift Aid form
• Visit The Centre - we may capture your images on our CCTV systems.
• Proactively post or contribute to our sites including social media and any correspondence you have with us.

We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special categories of personal information about you (known as Special Category Data). This does however include name, address, e-mail, telephone number, and financial information if you purchase goods (hire or adverts) from us.
 
Our website automatically tracks some data about your usage of our website through cookies, if your browser accepts them. We use this information to make sure that our website is meeting the needs of our users and to make improvements. No directly identifiable personal information is collected through our website analytics (for example your name or address). Your personal information will only be collected from use of our website if you submit a Hire Booking Enquiry Form and include personal information such as contact details.
 
We will only store your information on our database with your consent.

We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need to provide and oversee this service to you.

Where we keep your information

The Centre is based in the UK, and we store our data within the UK. Some organisations which provide services to us may transfer personal data outside of the EU, but we will only allow them to do if your data is adequately protected.
 
For example, some of our systems use Microsoft products. As a US company, it may be that using their products result in personal data being transferred to or accessible from the US. However, we will allow this as we are certain personal data will still be adequately protected (as Microsoft is certified under the USA’s Privacy Shield scheme).

The Centre will not share or sell your information to any third party. We may share your information with third parties where we have legal duty to do so or to provide you with a service you have asked for. For example, we use secure third-party partners to process financial transactions. We have contracts in place with all third-party suppliers to ensure they are obligated to treat our customers’ personal data in compliance with the UK data protection law.

How long we keep your information

We do not keep your information for longer than necessary. We keep financial information for up to seven years due to legal and contractual requirements, and we delete all other personal information from our customer relationship management system if we have had no contact with you for three years.

We are committed to doing all that we can to keep your data secure. We have set up systems and processes to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure of your data, however, the security of data transmission can never be 100% guaranteed, and data transmission is at your own risk.
